Roar

 To be me
 Something I have feared
 Admired others for being
 Hidden.
Locked myself away in a cage
 Silence quiets anxieties voice
 To speak is to reveal

 To be me
 I didn’t know how
 Same body but different me’s
Longing to hear that “me” is alright
 Yet I remain hidden
Shy in a corner of myself
 Grieving my voice

 To be me
 Embracing each part
 To own the past
 Accept the present
 And hope for the future

 To be me
 Hidden no longer
Anxiety silenced by my deafening roar
 At last

 Me.
